Our benchmark
This website is developed against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 level AA as its benchmark. We do not claim certified compliance, because a full independent audit has not been carried out, but accessibility is checked as part of development.
What we've done
- Every interactive control can be reached and operated by keyboard
- Visible focus states on links, buttons and form fields
- Semantic headings and landmarks for screen readers
- Labels on every form field, with clear error messages
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful photographs
- Text colours chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast against their backgrounds
- Text that scales with your browser's text-size settings
- Responsive layouts that work from small phones to large screens
- Animations are reduced automatically when your device asks for reduced motion
- The before-and-after comparison sliders can be operated with arrow keys as well as touch and mouse
Known limitations
Some photographs are decorative and are deliberately hidden from screen readers. If you find any part of the site difficult to use, we would genuinely like to hear about it.
